Refund Policy
Last updated 29 October 2026.
A plain-English summary of section 10 of our Terms of Service, from Australian Property Assessment Pty Ltd (ACN 703 476 797, ABN 98 703 476 797), PO Box 101, Randwick NSW 2031, which provides the APAVAL property valuation service ("we", "us", "our"). If anything here conflicts with the terms, the terms apply.
Before you pay
Our order form shows the price for the property value band you choose, as the total including GST. The price for the band you choose is final: we don't refund part of it if our valuation comes in a lower band, and we don't charge more if it comes in a higher band.
Not sure of the value, or is the property worth over $10 million? Choose "Not sure" or "Over $10 million". Your order is then a request: nothing is charged, and we confirm the price by email before you pay.
If we can't prepare your report after you pay
You get a full refund. If you prefer, we can refer you to a professional valuer instead, whose own terms and fees apply. A full refund is always one of your choices.
If you want to cancel
Email us at valuations@apaval.com.au at any time before your report is released.
- Before we start preparing your report: a full refund.
- After we've started: we refund what you paid less a $39 cancellation fee (including GST), which covers the work already done.
- After your report is released: cancellation isn't available, but your rights under the Australian Consumer Law still apply.
Deceased estates
If a disagreement between beneficiaries or other parties exists when you order, or arises before your report is released, tell us. We cancel the order with a full refund and can refer you to a professional valuer.
If something in your report is wrong
Email us, quoting your report reference and what is wrong. We don't change the value just because it's different from what you expected.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled: to cancel your service contract with us; and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract.
Nothing in this policy limits these rights.
How refunds are paid
To the card or account you paid with, within 7 business days of approving the refund. Your bank may take longer to show it.
